Dear Sharon, my team forwarded me your review following your stay at the AMADEO apartment in Barcelona. I read it carefully and noted every remarks stated in your feedback. I also took the time to review all the emails exchanged with Veronique & Sabrina prior your booking confirmation for this property. The AMADEO is a basic apartment (marked as a 1* apartment) in the Eixample neighborhood (on the border with Gracia as you noted). It is an inexpensive holiday rental so many young couple, students or people traveling on budget book it for its price, fantastic location and the terrace (a real plus in Barcelona, even if you weren't lucky with the weather). It is more than 6 years we have it in our agency and the owner has made improvements along the years as you noted (kitchen & shower). The subway station (DIAGONAL) is less than 5 min walking. The 2013/2014 commentaries from guests are all very good as they are well aware to book a budget apartment for their holiday in Barcelona. After reviewing the many emails you exchanged with our team prior to book this property, I believe our company might not have assisted you well in your choice. As you noted, we are very professional, quick on reply, but for this price range (1000 - 1200€/month, all expenses included), there are no other possibilities during the Barcelona high season. I am sure you have checked many other agencies and website prior to validate your booking with us and the average price range for a upper quality property is around 2000€/month in april/may. We are a Barcelona specialist offering a very large selection of holiday apartments ranging from budget to luxury. All the apartments are visited and selected by our local team. After you met with Sabrina in Barcelona, she explained me you are used to travel the world and this is your passion. I would have loved to push you to select a higher standard cocoon property, even if this would have been more expensive. We have informed the owner and the greeter about all your remarks about the cleaning and the lack of information communicated at the checkin (groceries, garbage...) and we'll do a new checkup to the property (we do it periodically). I dealt with Sabrina and Veronique, both of whom were lovely and helpful. Because of their demeanor I believed your offerings would be of high quality. But that was not the case. This is regrettable as I travel more than 4 months of the year and would like to have established a relationship with a reliable company.

I would not recommend this facility to others and must question whether your company actually inspects these apartments.While the kitchen cabinets and shower were newer, the furnishings were very cheap and uncomfortable. The floors were dirty. There was caked grease on the electric range. The toaster was old and dirty .Both bed and daybed as sofa were quite uncomfortable. The walls outside the apt. were very dirty with handprints and the front door was gouged and chipped. This apartment was not in Exeimple as advertised; it is in Gracia. It is 3 blocks from Mila house, not "a few steps away" as described. Furthermore, there is no nearby Metro station. Upon arrival representative's breath reeked of alcohol and he did not communicate relevant info such as where to put trash and garbage. I did not use washing machine or cooking equipment except to heat water and to prepare toast. The sunroof was dirty with soot and soil. There were no screens on doors or windows to allow them to be open without admitting flies and dirt born on the wind.
