Apartments Barcelona Eixample. Big apartment loft-type

An unusual apartment with lots of space! Eben was very helpful and really accommodating about the late check out on Friday. It was a shame there was not more natural light in the apartment but overall - just a fun and unusual place to stay! (NB. The plaster on the ceiling peeled off and fell down while we were eating at the table - so it might be worth checking out the level of damp in this apartment.)

We were looking for accommodations that would be appropriate for our quadriplegic son. His wheelchair (65 cm wide)fit through the door. It is a ground floor space with skylights. The space is HUGE! It met all our needs. We found the agent to be very accommodating. The kitchen was more than adequate and the washer/dryer were a real bonus. The hot shower was wonderful and it worked well with our roll-in shower chair. It is very quiet and near to everything - only a few blocks from an accessible Metro station. There were some items I would recommend that you check. (1) There is zero privacy in the bathroom. If you are disabled, please have them notify the agent. The doors to the toilet were difficult to manage and it took both of us to hold the door and wheel my son's special bathroom chair into the space. You might just ask that they be removed. (2) There is no smoke detector. I'm not sure what the Barcelona city requirements are but we were concerned. (3) There were a number of bad thunder storms while we were visiting and the skylights leaked buckets. The agent was informed. I hope they are fixed soon because I'd like to recommend this loft to others.

It was quiet, convenient and much less expensive than a hotel. Hotels would not allow us to book less than two rooms for the three of us - even though my son is 100% disabled.

The personnel at Cocoon Barcelona are the best. My command of Spanish is limited and I had some trouble with calling for a specially adapted taxi to get us to the Airport. The agents at Cocoon Barcelona made the call for us and the taxi arrived on time! I recommend this company without reserve.

The loft is wonderful, very beautiful and well situated.
One thing: The toilets and bathroom are a bit "non-intimate". Otherwise, good value and nice area.
