If you are planing to come to Barcelona with your own car, this might lead to a rather frustrating experience. Parking spots in the streets of Barcelona are very rare and there is a big lack of public parking spots in the streets all over the city.
As Barcelona is frequented so much by tourists from Europe, it makes the few parking spots even more desired and less available. There arent even enough parking spots for free available for all residents. The public parking zones are usually reserved for residents and marked as green zones. In some of the outskirts or less central areas it might be possible to leave your car in the street, but if you are not familiar with the areas, this could get you into trouble too. You wouldnt want to come back to your car after a nice holiday week, to find it damaged or stolen.
Be carefull ! Car not well parked can get taken away by the police or you might have to pay a lot of money for bad parking ( 150 € to 250 €)
The best and most secure option is to leave your car in one of the many car parks, which are luckily also centrally located.
Barcelona offers an excellent public transport system with 6 different metro lines, 6 Tram lines and 80 buslines. The metro runs from Monday to Thursday from 5 am to 12 am, on Friday from 5 am to 2 am and on Saturdays the metro runs all night long ( like at New Year’s night). The buses have also 17 special Night Buses available, to keep up a the red of public transport all night long.
Taxis in Barcelona are very cheap and an interesting alternative as a ride of about 15 min will only cost you around 10 €. This means you can visit all sights or areas in the city center by taxi for around 7-10 €.
There are of course a lot of reasons to come to Barcelona with your own car anyways, and if you make use of the following tips, it will allow you an enjoyable stay in the city with your car.

Il y a des parkings un peu partout dans la ville mais le prix varie très fort d’un parking a l’autre. Il faut faire très attention si vous vous garez en rue car la plupart des emplacements sont réservés aux riverains. La police fait enlever les voitures très souvent. Prix + 200 €
