restaurants

You’ll be spoilt for choice with the sheer amount of restaurants in Barcelona, and the diversity of cuisines they offer. Tradition sits comfortably alongside innovation and some of the finest chefs have come out of this city’s kitchens, including the celebrated Ferran Adria and Carles Abellan. Catalan, Mediteranean, tapas, international and seafood dishes are offered in some of the most popular dining venues around the city centre and surrounding trendy areas of of L’Eixample, El Raval, the Barri Gotic and more. For those who want to rent apartments in Barcelona, fully furnished flats, penthouse studios, or lofts, there are plenty located in the center, and they offer an economical way to stay. Generally, lunchtime is between 1 and 4 whilst dinner is eaten late after 9.30 and 10pm. There are excellent fish and seafood restaurants especially in Barcolenta close to the marina, and paella is a great dish to share with friends. There’s also an interesting range of informal eating spots around the city including tapas bars and coffee shops. Barcelona doesn’t really offer separate menu’s for kids but will give smaller portions if you ask, or take them for a tapas where the dishes are small and plentiful.
