Gaudi

The work of Gaudi is respected and admired all over the world and his style is distinctive and instantly recognizable, described as a genius and visionary, the Catalan nationalist has left reminders of himself everywhere. Take a tour around the city to see his most famous masterpieces, and many other buildings from other architects that have been inspired by his imagination. The most famous is course La Sagrada Familia, the temple that was started all the way back in 1882 and still has yet to be completed. Park Guell has some of the most amazing and bizarre sculptures you’ll ever see, from the colourful dragon fountain at the entrance to the serpent-shaped benches. There’s a good selection of budget apartments Barcelona to suit all kinds of requirements whether you choose to stay in the bohemian Gracia neighbourhood or the chic Eixample. Even those not particularly interested in architecture and art, and have come to explore the designer and boutique shops and go clubbing in the city’s nightclubs, find themselves impressed by the architecture that is purely Gaudi. La Pedrera, the Casa Mila, features no straight lines in the whole building and is now a UNESCO world heritage site and one of Barcelona’s best loved buildings.
