Opium Mar Barcelona
You can enjoy an exclusive night out in one of the bars, clubs and live music places all over Barcelona, but it can be difficult to make a choice. Most clubs are empty before 2 am, but if you enter before 1 am sometimes its possible to enter for free or to pay half of the price.
March 2012 Opening of the OCANA, bar,restaurant , club on Plaza Real. Ocana was an Andalucian painter named José Pérez Ocaña, a provocative character that deeply marked the life of Rambla and plaça Reial of Barcelona in the late 70’s. He died at 36. He was dressed up as a sun but his costume burnt and himself too of course. He was very seriously burnt and finally died from an hepatitis. Many of his friends came for the opening.
On the Passeig de Maritim in the Barceloneta/Olympic Area are a lot of stylish bars and lounge clubs with terraces overlooking the sea, some offering dinner early in the evening and turning into dance clubs later on.
Well known are: Catwalk, Shoko, Carpe diem lounge club (CDLC) and Opium mar.
The Opium Mar is very crowded … lots of young people enjoy this trendy place !
IMPORTANT if you login on the Facebook page of one of those bars, you can go in for free until 1 or 1.30 a.m.
The Pacha and the Otto Sutz are located in the upper part of Barcelona, but taxis are pretty cheap in Barcelona and the clubs are well worth a trip.
Other, more centrally located options are for example Karma on Plaza Reial in the Gothic quarter, Fellini Club on the Ramblas, Moog with the finest electronic music close to the Rambla, Apolo in the Raval area where you can enjoy also a lot of great live concerts and the Jamboree Jazz Club on the Plaza Reial with concerts jam sessions every monday.
