Christmas 2011 Ice skating rink Plaza Catalunya Barcelona

Ice skating rink in Barcelona for the first time. Plaza Catalunya gets an ice skating rink for Christmas. The plaza Catalunya is all the way up the Ramblas.

The rink is covered with a plastic roof to let plenty of light in. It is 1200m2 big (40m by 30m) making it the biggest outdoor ice rink in Europe with room for 350 skaters. It is open from Saturday 3rd December until the beginning of January. The idea is to add to the Christmas spirit of Barcelona.

On Saturday the rink was full ! So many kids did enjoy ice skating with their friends or parents.

Price including skate rental is 8 euros for 1 hour and 6 euros for 30 minutes. There is a changing area and a cafeteria.

Opening times Ice skating rink Plaza Catalunya:
Monday to Thursday: 10:00 to 21:00
Fridays, Saturdays and public holidays: 10:00 to 23:00
Sundays; 10:00 to 21:00
Christmas Eve: 10:00 to 20:00
Christmas Day: 11:00 to 14:00
New Years Eve: 10:00 to 20:00
New Years Eve is called Noche Vieja in Spain.
