Markets

There’s something about a market that is appealing to everyone, it’s the unique items that are on sale, the delicious smells of fresh local produce and the buzz and atmosphere. And Barcelona has more than its fair share to offer locals and tourists, antique and flea markets are plentiful and the Gothic Quarter has locally-made products as well as cheap but stylish clothing and vintage gear. On Sunday’s Sant Antoni food market transforms into a book and coin market and Fira de Nautumismo also sells coins and stamps, whilst the Mercat de Sant Josep off Las Rambla is just the place you want to be for picking up some delicious ingredients and food stuffs. Barcelona apartments rent are ideal for long stays and is often a better choice than hotels which can be pricey for a group of people, less spacious and close by to many of the popular markets. The Mercat Del Encants covers a large area and the range of items is crazy, from antiques and fashion items to art and hair accessories! Worth a trip even if you have no intention of buying. Mercadillo de la Plaça de Sant Josep is a cute little art market where Catalan artists set up their easels next to the church and catere for all styles.
