Flamenco

The Flamenco traditionally originates from the south of Spain but can also be seen in Barcelona, which is great as it is sexy, fun and exciting. Consisting of singing, guitar playing and dancing it can be seen at various festivals around the country including one of the most popular, Feria de Abril, in Seville. In Barcelona itself there are a number of flamenco shows some specifically aimed at tourists with dinner and drinks included in the price and others offering a more authentic feel. Flamenco artists are well-known and talented at what they do and many will have won prestigious awards.
There are a choice selection of apartments to rent in Barcelona and many are located in the city centre for convenience and very close to the show and other entertainment on offer. You can even choose to attend classes in the flamenco if so inclined; they’ll teach you all the basics and are affordable and good exercise!
Tarantos is one of the oldest Tablao’s in the city for this passionate art form and many of the top performers can be seen here, look out for Antoni Gades or Niña Pastori, Miguel Poveda. The atmosphere is electric and the Mediterranean food delicious, well worth a visit if you’re in the city with a partner or simply want to see something different.
