Transport

Barcelona is a small enough city that you can walk to the major sights and as much of the centre is pedestrianised you get the benefit of being able to take in the incredible architecture close up, get yourself a street map and it’s not difficult to navigate the city centre streets. However it’s not always convenient to walk particularly in the summer months when it can get hot, if you want to see all the sights the city has to offer then it’s worth checking out other modes of transportation. The public transport system is cheap, clean and efficient and all you need to travel around the centre of the city, most people use the metro or bus service which between them services all the inner city routes. The metro is one of the easiest and most popular ways to go sightseeing and is punctual, air-conditioned, and cheap to use. Consider beach apartments in Barcelona centre for total convenience and you will hardly need to think about transportation. Taxis are affordable and can be a more comfortable way to travel although progress may be slow in the city centre, official taxis are yellow and black and there should be a meter in use, otherwise rates should be displayed inside the cab.
