Dining in Barcelona is known for its creativity and some of the finest cooks in Catalonia and Spain can be found in the restaurants that flourish here, Ferran Adria is one chef with a reputation as being the best in the world and his influence can be seen in menus all over the city. The mix of other cultures and ethnic backgrounds who have made Barcelona their home and introduced their own style of cuisine to the culinary pot also adds to the unique tastes, you can still find plenty of traditinal eating places around with delicious risotto, canelons and ravioli to tempt your palate, but now they have been joined by a mix of international offerings. Choosing to stay in Barcelona apartments Las Ramblas provides the opportunity to return to your accommodation during siesta time. Lunch is generally after 1pm and can linger until 3pm or even later, some people eat whilst others have a siesta. Dinner is the main meal of the day and most locals don’t eat until late, 9pm is normal. Catalonia is also producing some fine wines and you should look out for Penedes DO and Priorat amongst other choices.
