Barcelona is a major cultural centre with a wealth of historical and modern monuments, architecture from all periods, cathedrals and churches and even roman ruins amongst its attributes. The Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, the Teatre Lliure and the Palau de la Música Catalana all host musical events including concerts, opera, dance and recitals, and the Barcelona and Catalonia National Symphonic Orchestra is one of the biggest in Catalonia with around 75 concerts each season. There’s plenty of choice if you;pre looking for an apartment for rent in Barcelona and they are ideal for weekend breaks if you want to stay attend a pop concert or go to the Sónar Festival or Primavera Sound Festival which attracts thousands. Museums and art galleries are found in every district with a wide area of interest and eras, check ou the National Museum of Art of Catalonia with its collection of Romanesque art or the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, the Fundació Joan Miró, Picasso Museum and Fundació Antoni Tàpies also have interesting and important collections.
