Plaza's

Barcelona is a city with beautiful old buildings, narrow winding streets and an endless number of plazas; it’s the perfect place to take a romantic break or a Christmas shopping trip. Here are just some of the most popular in the city. Placa del Rei is a lovely, quiet square right in the centre where you can sit and watch the buskers, Placa Reial features unique lampposts, Gaudi's oldest known work and a cool place for a cocktail in the evenings, and Placa Sant Jaume is host to the town hall and the Catalan government building. Placa de la Merce is where the grandiose Basilica de la Merce is to be found and rental apartments Barcelona are ideal for seeing all the city centre highlights. Placa de la Seu is situated in front of Barcelona's cathedral and you can catch traditional Sardana dancing groups on Sundays, Placa de Sant is a good place for a strong coffee, and bullet holes can still be seen in Placa de Sant Felip Neri from the Spanish Civil War. Visit the Santa Maria del Pi church at Placa del Pi, admire the views of the cathedral from Placa de Ramon Berenguer el Gran and, last but not least, check out the Roman ruins at Placa del Regomir.
