Gracia is located at the top of Passeig de Gracia but the difference between the two is vast, once an industrial area where all the workers lived it still retains a strong community feel to it and attracts artists and similar individuals with their own sense of style. As well as the locals many foreigners choose to live here as it’s central and the accommodation is reasonable. If you’re in the area then head to Plaça de Sol where most of the young trendy crowd hang out, there’s chic terrace cafes and restaurants serving a variety of cuisine and in the evenings it’s busy and fun. One of the cheapest areas for luxury apartments Barcelona it’s a lively place to find somewhere to stay, particularly during the summer when there’s a big festival that goes on for 5 days, the streets compete with each other to see who can win the prize for the best decorated and there’s live music, stalls and other entertainment. Gracia has a bit of everything, plaças, shopping, bars, coffee shops, different cuisines, modernist architecture and art, a little more downtrodden than other parts of the city it is a safe area and quieter than other touristy districts.
