Gothic Quarter

This historical quarter of the city known as the Gothic Quarter was, a long time ago, the site of a Roman village and there are still some parts of it remaining even after all this time. The combination of modern architecture sitting quite comfortably next to an ancient monument is a sight that is both striking and unusual. The streets here are narrow and wind their way around the area so it can be difficult to find your way around but you’re sure to eventually stumble upon one of the many placas, stop for a cool drink and find your location on the map! Cheap Barcelona apartments in the Gothic Quarter close to the impressive Cathedral can’t be beaten. Placa Reial has plenty of places to dine and drink at and is busy most of the time. A lively district you are never stuck for somewhere to be entertained and you can have a quiet drink, go dancing, watch a live band play and do lots more. Walk up Calle Ferran to Placa Sant Jaume where most of the government buildings are located and check out the cafes and bars there too. Shopping is an experience with lots of brand names amongst the designer outlets and small independent boutiques.
