Eixample

The Eixample can easily be explored by foot and you shouldn’t get lost as its all set out in a grid and every block has its own inner courtyard. The architecture is amazing and you’ll want to stop and gawp every once in a while! Many of Antoni Gaudi’s masterpieces are located here and the area is a favourite with architectural enthusiasts. On the fashionable boulevard of 'Passeig de Gracia is the UNESCO World Heritage listed Casa Batlló with its façade of colourful mosaic, not a straight line in site and balconies resembling bones. The Casa Milà is even more extrovert with its irregular floor plans, wavy walls and odd chimney stacks. This is a great area to find a luxury apartment to rent Barcelona as it has everything you need within walking distance, famous sights, good restaurants and entertainment. The most beloved building in this district however is the Sagrada Familia, Barcelona's most important landmark the church is unique and even though it still to be completed you can take an elevator followed by a long walk up to the tower and get the best views over the city, and visit the crypt where Gaudí lays. High class boutiques, art galleries and terrace cafes make it a great place to sit, drink coffee and watch the people pass by.
