Beach

Barcelona is generally linked with art, culture and leisure and everyone has heard of Dali, Gaudi and Picasso. There is more on offer however as it has a fine choice of beaches, cleaned up in recent years they are a fun and safe place for families with children or just anyone who wants to sit by the ocean. The warm summers here make it possible to swim and relax on the sands, so next time you’re in the city don’t forget to enjoy the ocean! Platja de Sant Sebastia and Platja de Sant Miquel are popular and can be crowded in the summer with loud music. You’ll find apartments in Barcelona very easily with an ocean view, the nearest beach to the city is Platja de Barceloneta where you can swim, windsurf or kite surf on the long stretch of sand or sip a cocktail before going onto a club. Near to the Barcelona Olympic Port is Platja de Nova Icaria, quiet and less crowded whilst Platja de Mar Bella attracts the youngsters and watersport fans. The sea front brings all kinds of people together whether they’re just out for a stroll, going for a cycle, roller-blading the promenade, jogging or swimming.
