Barceloneta

Barceloneta is only a small district and can be found between Port Vell, the old port and the Platja de Barceloneta. The nearest beach to the city centre it still retains its old charm as traditionally this is where the local sailors and fishermen hung out, quite different from the busy shopping streets just 15 minutes away. Since much of the area was refurbished for the Olympic Games it attracts more tourists as there’s a pleasant beach promenade where the seafood restaurants serve up freshly caught produce from the ocean. A popular area for a leisurely stroll along the beach, sunbathing and a delicious seafood meal Barcelona luxury apartments can ensure your stay is comfortable and luxurious, just a short walk away is The Olympic Port with the gigantic bronze monument designed by Franc Gehry as a great talking point. This proximity to the shore is the main reason behind the area’s popularity, in the hot summer months it’s busy and frantic with people whilst in the winter it is quiet and still. Close by is L'Aquarium, the second biggest in Europe and the IMAX cinema with a range of 3D movies showing, or take the cable car from St Sebastian tower nearby to the Montjüic Mountain and admire the impressive views over the city.
