Parks

Barcelona has some truly gorgeous areas to explore in its abundance of gardens and parks, open to the public they provide breathing space from the crowded city streets and it’s easy enough to spend the whole day walking around them admiring the blooms and lush plant life. Parc de la Ciutadella is popular with both locals and tourists and busiest on a Sunday when people come for the space and to picnic under the trees, some of the park is now used by Barcelona Zoo. Montjuïc Mountain has lots of little gardens to discover including Jardins Mossén, Jacint Verdaguer and Jardí Botànic with their outstanding views and beautiful displays. Search for cheap apartment Barcelona and spend more than a few days discovering the scenic gardens of this exciting and cosmopolitan city. Many parks were once owned by the city's nobility such as the Parc del Laberint, or the Labryinth Park set in the grounds of a stately mansion with a large labyrinth maze, sculptures and classical music concerts during the summer months. Barcelona's Parc Guell was created by Gaudi and is a captivating place to visit with wild colourful mosaic patterns and the Gaudi dragon fountain.
